“SIX FIGURES, NO SUITS” IS A CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTARY YOU NEED TO WATCH

As large of an industry as the construction industry is and with the amount of characters that I’ve met in my career, I’ve always been surprised at the lack of television programming covering large building projects. The Construction Channel, an online new media company, is taking matters into their own hands and has recently released episodes of a documentary series called Six Figures, No Suits (SFNS).

First of all, “Six Figures, No Suits” is a fantastic name. More importantly, though, it takes a deep dive into the people and processes that shape our industry and shows the things that people on the outside looking in don’t normally get to see.

In its 3 episode arc, SFNS has highlighted drilled shafts in Alabama, Dam micropiles in Wisconsin, and shoring in Toronto, Canada. Each episode features interviews with key personnel on site and some exceptionally well done graphics and animations to visually supplement the tasks at hand.

The series has won several awards since its release, including the Grand Prize at the 2019 New Media Film Festival, Best Web Series at the 2019 Olympus Film Festival, and the Best TV Pilot at the 2019 United States Film Festival.

If you want more from Construction Channel, they also produced a series called The Field, which takes a deeper dive into the people and everyday tasks of a project in Alabama.
