South Baldwin Regional Medical Center is a 112 bed, acute care hospital with plans to undergo a $186-million expansion which includes adding 30 beds, a five-story patient tower with a new surgical department, nursing units and a larger ICU. SBRMC’s more than 800 employees, along with a dedicated and experienced medical staff with over 32 medical specialties, serve the greater coastal Alabama region. Hospital services include Baldwin County’s only Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine Center, Women’s Imaging, comprehensive digital imaging, a 24-hour emergency department, an extended hours urgent care & imaging center and freestanding emergency department in Gulf Shores.
With numerous recognitions for quality and safety, the hospital is Baldwin County’s only Chest Pain and Stroke accredited facility and one of only two Sepsis Certified facilities in the state of Alabama.
