Alabama AGC Welcomes John White-Spunner into Alabama Construction Hall of Fame.
At just 24 years old, John White-Spunner founded White-Spunner Construction (WSC) in his hometown of Mobile, Alabama. Shortly after earning his degree in Building Construction from Auburn University, he has transformed the company into one of the Gulf Coast’s most respected general contracting, design-build, and construction management firms. From constructing South Alabama’s first LEED-certified building to completing the 46 Retail Contractor in the nation, the company has reached remarkable milestones under John’s leadership and is known for consistently providing superior client services and excellent results.
John’s commitment to the industry is evident through his long-standing membership in the Associated General Contractors (AGC). However, what sets him apart is his commitment to the culture of the company. He has created a culture of philanthropy within WSC and in employees, actively supporting a variety of charitable organizations. This aspect extends to how the company works with subcontractors, making sure they receive the resources they need.
Over the years, John has contributed to numerous boards and participated in a variety of civic and charitable endeavors, in addition to his professional accomplishments. These efforts are driven by a combined sense of humility, integrity, and a desire to serve.
Since January 1, 1920, Alabama Associated General Contractors has brought together qualified construction contractors and industry-related companies dedicated to skill, integrity and responsibility. The Association provides broad influence and a full range of services satisfying the needs and concerns of its members, partners and the industry, thereby improving the quality of construction and protecting the public interest.
