Charlotte Kopf Retires After 50 Years with Alabama AGC
After five decades of service, Charlotte Kopf retired on January 31, 2025, from her role as Manager of the Mobile Section of the Alabama Associated General Contractors (AGC). She began her career in 1975 as a secretary and rose through the ranks to become a key leader in the organization.
Charlotte modernized AGC’s Mobile Section events – most notably transforming Bonanza Day into a family-friendly, statewide fishing and golf tournament. She played a major role in workforce development, helping launch Go Build Alabama and the Construction Industry Craft Training (CICT) program, which have funneled millions into training Alabama’s next generation of skilled workers.
A passionate advocate for jobsite safety, she co-led the Work Zone Safety Committee and introduced Millie the Work Zone Safety Dog to help educate kids and parents about road safety. Charlotte also mentored countless professionals, helped shape the Construction Leadership Council, and became the heart and soul of the AGC community.
In honor of her legacy, AGC created the Charlotte Kopf Award, recognizing employees with 20+ years of dedicated service. Charlotte plans to enjoy retirement with her husband Mit, spending time with family, traveling, and diving into her creative hobbies.
Her leadership, kindness, and lifelong dedication have left a lasting mark on Alabama’s construction industry – and she will be deeply missed.
